Sarina Suriano - All Jazzed Up

Sarina Suriano is a Sydney based jewellery and accessories designer. From her studio in Surry Hills she produces fabulous high quality hand-made costume jewellery and fashion accessories. She is recognized for her wonderfully ornate and intricate pieces but her style ranges from simple and understated through to wild attention seeking pieces.

Fashion always spoke loudly to Suriano. Through-out her child-hood she created outfits, bags, belts, and added jewels to shoes, however as she matured through high school, she became increasingly intrigued by the sculptural aspect of architecture and Industrial design.

Upon completing her degree in Industrial Design, Sarina headed to Milan in pursuit of a dream where she worked as a freelance designer for two years. “It was all very inspiring, though I soon came to realise that I no longer got excited designing washing machines and fridges" - "why must a fridge be white, I asked. My creativity was no longer satisfied by what I was doing."

So she headed to London where she spent the next 2 years. Here Sarina produced her first range of jewellery and was employed by cult jewellers Erickson Beamon. It was a perfect marriage considering the pair both favoured intricate "look at me" jewellery.
Creating jewellery for the shop and for the designer catwalk shows in Milan, Paris and London.

Upon returning home to Sydney in 2001, and settling into the creative fashion district of Surry Hills, Sarina Suriano launched her jewellery label and focused on glamourising the jewellery market and revolutionizing fashions’ flirtation with “the accessory”. ” In Europe, there is nothing strange about a woman putting on a fantastic pair of earrings to go to the supermarket. But women here restrict their jewellery to the evenings which is a waste”.

"One thing I’d love to share with Australian women is to not be afraid to stand out in the crowd. Do not be afraid to be, to look and to feel strong, modern, confident, feminine and last but not least sexy”.” So while many women may think that wearing Suriano’s creations scream "Look at me”, she invites them to try and see for themselves just how beautiful they will make you feel – even if only for a short while."
Suriano continues to collaborate with some of Australia’s leading designers and during the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week this year, she staged her own catwalk show, featuring pieces from her stunning "All Jazzed Up " range. These pieces are now on display exclusively at Tea Lily .
